Default NEw Original - Desperate Words (first post in a while)

I did a search of the forum and realized that its been over 3 years since I posted anything here. WOW! Time flies, life gets in the way, creativity waxes and wanes, etc. etc. I've written a few songs in the last few years and tried to spend a little more time on each one. Song writing (as hapless as I am at it) is a funny process (at least for me anyway). I'll get an idea and start to write a song and get something totally different. I have the chorus for a country song called You Fool but each time I tried to finish it with the verses, they didn't fit and I got a totally different song. This is the first of the two I got in my attempts. They're on the theme of "what's before unrequited love?". Well what's BEFORE that is one that can't even be expressed and is just carried around like a big ole fool (ergo the chorus of You Fool!). Thanks for listening and commenting!

Desperate Words

Desperate Words
İRoy Williams 2016

How can she not notice, I sadly smile when she says hi
How can she, not clearly see, That when I look deep in her eyes
I'm living for that moment, when she's standing so close by
Still I'm invisible, to the casual glance, of her pretty blue eyes

How am I gonna make it through, another silent lonely day
With all of these desperate words
I won't, I just can't, find a way to say

I guess I must be crazy, to still try and deny
All these things I'm feeling, that are burning me up inside
Till I am on fire, but I can't say a word
Cause if I bare my soul just a little bit, those things can't be unheard

How am I gonna make it through, another silent lonely day
With all of these desperate words
I won't, I just can't, find a way to say

I'm standing here beside her, with my heart in my hand
And I'm trying to find some silent way
to make her understand

that I've got all of these desperate words, dying to be heard
But what can't I say, and what won't I say
That line's been blurred

How am I gonna make it through, another silent lonely day
With all of these desperate words
I won't, I just can't, find a way to say

If she knew me like I wish she did, she'd just read this on my face
and If we were living in a different, Time and place

But we're living in this here and now, so all these desperate words
Will just echo around inside me
and Never will be heard
Desperate words
never heard

How can she not notice notice, I sadly smile when she says hi

Hey Roy,

I saw this a few months back and meant to listen and comment, but then I got distracted by other things. Last night I suddenly thought of this and gave it a listen this morning.

I like the song and I can certainly relate to the sentiment. Nice to see a new Ranger original around here. Thanks for posting.

Thank you kind sir. I've been off the grid for a while but recently wrote a few. Since I posted this I've written one for my new (and first) granddaughter from a parent/Grandparent perspective. Demo is done so I'll be recording it soon. Thanks for the listen and the comment.
