McIlroy AS35n — cedar/EIR — no. 434 nylon crossover
Last of my leavers, a ca. 2007 McIlroy AS35n, posted here
https://reverb.com/item/2179999-mcil...crossover-2007 Very few McIlroy crossovers in the wild. Eminently playable and just hollers. Great if you're looking to expand your McIlroy quiver, go after the Brazilian folk-jazz voice or dark flamenco edge, join a Yoshi Wada deep drone experiment, give Mogwai a run for their money unamplified, belt like Richard Youngs, or bend space-time around you. A true strummer. Glad to field questions via PM here to elaborate on this dark horse of the McIlroy range, but anything in the rubber meets the road department, please find me via Reverb. $2950 takes the guitar and case and $70 ships it CONUS. No trades, but appreciate the interest. Thanks! |

Specs and audio clip are in the Reverb post. A delightful read and listen. That thing does reverberate.

This looks like one a special guitar and useful tree is the guy we hope to buy guitar(s) from. I tried the last McIlroy he had for sale and it was wonderful. Wish I could have bought it. Had just bought a Lowden with coco back and sides and was at my limit. Hope to try this one before it goes as McIlroys seem to be very special and I haven't played a crossover. No doubt this guitar is in perfect condition. I bet this is a great opportunity.

Couldn't resist the usefultree's offer to bring the guitar over for a look see and trial. Played for an hour or so and then had some lunch. What a treat. Never played a crossover before but have been working on finger style to play a little classical and blues. This guitar is magical. It just sings. I even had to play it with a pick just to see. It was really nice flat picked too. Played my simplified rags and an O'Carolan or two. Not sure what i really 'need' a crossover or what it would replace. Someone should jump on this without hesitation. Did I mention it's simple elegance? I guessed right. This is an opportunity.

Dermot always produces nothing short of excellent quality. I listened to the sound clip of this guitar and was really, really impressed, Dermot delivered again. What a deal. GLWYS BK |
