We get occasional overflights and sometimes pretty low.
I am guessing out of Hill AFB in Utah .We must be directly under one of the training runs. They fly a number of different planes but I have identified the F 35 Lighting a few times because of the dual tails .. They usually come in pairs about 5 seconds apart one lower (at I assume the 500 limit ) and one higher maybe a 1000' above us ,, flying East to West. I am guessing they fly Out of Hill N.E. up the to the low spot of the continental divide in South Central Wyoming come up the East side of the Wind River Range and then turn West over the Rim (which is what we live on @8000 ft.)

Unlike the SR-71 which you hear for 5 seconds, before you see them (maybe). I have never heard a B-17, but I have heard a Blackbird and it was loud.

The following year, the fifteen foot long jet seen in one of the James Bond movies was circling over the house. But the wildest sound was a B24 Liberator flying over our car at about 300 feet (our car was on a hill outside town). Holy moly! Rick
