So I started looking
For milling marks and one amazon and the KLIQ had milling marks, and the other Amazon was the perfect one. Go figure[emoji848]

And yes I am tempted to use the elastic ones. They work and they are cheap![emoji848][emoji847]

I use the Planet Waves NS 99% of the time.

For show, I sometimes use a beautifully carved cejilla on my flamenco guitar.

I had to look that up.

They look like you could smack them on a piece of paper to stamp out PAID IN FULL.

You guys are going to plaster me. I found an old really cheap one in the house. I think I like it better[emoji848]

The Kaiser feels backwards
The cheap in middle feels just right and the nicer one on bottom feels like my hand may slip off the slick surface
So Goldie locks chose the middle one. And ordered 3 more from eBay. [emoji6]

I have one like the one in the middle. I think I got it when I bought a used guitar. However, as I said, it doesn't have the adjustment wheel of the bottom one.

Here's my point about the need for an adjustment. We go to great lengths to talk about the accuracy of tuners, how they can provide precise tunings to within .01 cent. But at the same time I see players tuning up their guitars with Peterson, Unitune or other fine tuners ... and then using a capo with a strong non-adjustable spring and then not retuning after they move it from fret to fret. To me that seems a rather contradictory practice. One is extremely accurate (the tuner) while the other, while not accurate, does carry with it the chance of altering the accuracy of the tuning.

I have a couple of the cheap Dunlop knockoffs (the one in the middle) and I much prefer them to the Kyser. They're fourth on my list of favorites.

Is this capo ok?

At the risk of being accused of co-opting a thread (too late, as it's happened many times already), it's kind of like a rambling conversation in which you never know which direction a thread will take.

That said, I would never use a spring clamp capo or large capo either. Not a fan of Yoke capoes either. After using Shubbs since a bit into the last century, maybe 40+ years ago, I now favor G7th Performance 3 capoes with the Adaptive Radius Techology (They adjust to the neck radius and more equally apply pressure). I don't have to re-tune using these (I have 2, one with a Celtic pattern etching that I use with my DADGAD guitar.)

Even though they are a bit more expensive than a Shubb, I find they are superior and the lack of needing to re-tune is the chief selling point. Not saying that Shubbs are bad, but that these are better. Haven't used a Shubb capo since I got the P3, even though I keep a couple as emergency back-ups.

And I got these P3s after I got a G7th Newport 12 string capo with the compensated string pad. Works like a charm on my 12 string guitars and again the chief point is the lack of need to re-tune when using one. And on a 12 string that is HUGE.

Well I guess that's more than my 2 cents worth.

I got another one in the mail. It says “CAPO” if you can see it. So I decided to try these 6 out on my Taylor 414.
The Kaiser was awkward left handed but pretty easy right handed, and worked well.
The el cheap in the middle worked OK and was not so stiff.
The CAPO one seemed to be best all around.
The KLIQ and the Amazon copy were too stiff for my geriatric hands and the slick surfaces slipped. They were also too heavy. Overall it felt like high quality, but just not right for me.
I have used cheap elastic capos on my classical for years, but this elastic one was stiff and hard to get on. Also the sound was a little muffled.
As my voice changes I am finding I need to use a capo more often, but since I seldom preform in public, a quick change is seldom necessary.
For now I will use the CAPO and may even buy another.
I think the Amazon capos may make good grip exercisers, but not my first choice to keep in my case.

BEWARE the elastic capo!

Cheap, but I've seen nasty scratches in the neck finish caused from the rear of the metal eyelets digging in to the finish. This happens when the rolled rear portion of the eyelet eventually starts protruding above the elastic.

Consider yourself forewarned.

I once used a BIC pen and a rubber band.

Yes , that is a problem.
I tried a clamp capo yeas ago and it left dents in the neck. Guess the classical neck was too wide for it. So that is why I have used the elastics. But I agree with your point.
