Waiting for Godot
As some of you already know, I bought a stock Emerald X30.
After paying, I quickly received word (from UPS) that a UPS label had been ordered and I was expected to get my guitar in 5 days. That is the guitar would have arrived 2 days ago. There were no updates from UPS until the day that UPS had initially said it would deliver the instrument. That update stated that the guitar had arrived in Sligo ireland and that I should expect the guitar on Monday March 1st. The update reminded me of the boy who arrives towards the end of the first act of the play (used in the title of this thread) to tell Vladmir and Estragon that Godot would not be arriving till the next day. For those of you who have not read or seen the play, these men had been waiting all day for Godot to arrive. I received another update on Friday telling me that the guitar was in transit in Dublin or from Dublin (Its not clear). No updates since. Unclear where the guitar is physically located at this time. Near the end of the second act of the play, the boy returns to tell Vladmir and Estragon that Godot would not be coming. There is no explanation as to why. I wonder?

That is exactly how my last shipment in early November happened. There was a "label created" message on tracking for a couple of days, then an update showing Sligo, Ireland on day #3. Then nothing. On day #8 mine showed up in Idaho with an email saying "failed delivery due to unpaid duties and taxes". The guitar seemed to move as expected, but the tracking information was never updated, until UPS demanded an extra $79 ransom to complete the delivery, which had to be paid by cashier's check or postal money order - no cash or credit card accepted. Hope that doesn't happen to you. It took three months of repeated emails and nagging, but I finally got that amount refunded from UPS.

I just received my X20 on 02/24. It shipped on 02/17. UPS didn't give many details on shipping. The guitar apparently didn't move from Ireland for a few days, then Germany for a day, then Philadelphia for two days, then it was here, out for delivery on 02/24.

I predict it will get there at the exact moment it arrives. Many of us have been there... for some reason, the 4 to 5 month wait while it is being built is much easier to tolerate compared to the week +/- a few days that the shipping takes.
For some reference, the first Emerald arrived in 4 days from purchasing an in-stock guitar to having it in my hands. The second one took 13 days. In the words of the late philosopher Robin Leach: "I don't know why." The third one arrived at our local Post Office 8 days after being shipped at 12:03pm (they close at noon) on the Saturday of a 3 day holiday weekend. It sat in the Post Office about a mile from our house for 3 more days. As near as I can tell, that was just to test my "worthiness." That was USPS and the tracking was spotty, at best. I knew when it arrived at Heathrow, I heard when it arrived at the Processing Center in NYC, then didn't hear anything again until is showed up at my local Post Office... 3 minutes after they closed for 3 days. None of this will have any bearing on when yours will arrive... just trying to take up a little time while you wait. Exciting times ahead! Keep us posted.

Then is goes to Kramster for final inspection. Then perhaps yes at your door....when it arrives that is. Not a minute sooner, nor later. I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that I undeniably think it it could be there by March eleventyith.

Which is worse? Waiting for Godot or Long Day's Journey into Night?

From what I have been reading on other guitars shipped from Ireland to the US via UPS, that seems to be the typical routing. Someone at UPS must have determined that is efficient... a "hub thing" I imagine.

That’s unduly optimistic based on how it USED to work, in the good old days. With current shipping delays, bad weather, etc, it often gets there days after it arrives. It’s the Emerald way.

I never thought of that.
I guess the worst would be From Here to Eternity.

As it pertains to X30s, isn't that Goodallboy's job?
