I have more Taylors than a hack has a right to, but who's complaining?
Of the Dread, GA, GC and mini GS, there is only one type I have two of: GA.
It really does do everything well.

This is excellent marketing strategy! Convince customers they must own a variety of guitars for different needs. Different guitars might be better suited for specific needs, but if I am told I can not strum my GC and get a great sound, I will disagree.

Don't think there is much incorrect with that marketing strategy. To be fair the GC reaches it's ceiling a lot quicker than a GA. However the GC really does excel at fingerpicking. My 512ce is standard scale and my 412e-R is short scale. I find the short scale and the spruce over rosewood body on the 412e-R makes for an exquisite fingerpicking experience. And my 512ce is currently my DADGAD guitar. The mahogany over mahogany/mahogany sounds great this way. I fingerpick all my instruments anyway.

And any difference between both volume-wise gets thrown through the window once you plug them in.

I play my GC in two situations:
1. At home by myself where "ceiling" is of no concern.
2. Plugged in at my acoustic gigs where the "ceiling" is my 60 watt amp.

If I played with people unamplified I might want a louder guitar.

alnico5,

Yeah I get it. But I kept an electric guitar and amp just in case. Pretty much haven't plugged in though for 30 years.
