Default Tree Harp

I was unaware that people assembled harps in trees. They sound magical.
Any players here?

I've not constructed a harp in a tree, but I do play wire-strung harps (Gaelic clarsach), standard nylon lever ("celtic") harp, Chinese guzheng ... I agree the sound is wonderfully evocative.

The type of harp here is closer to kantele - scandanavian type of harp.

Folks have been experimenting with harps, zithers, lyres for millennia. A wonderful thing about outdoor harps is that the wind will play upon them..

One would think! Fortunately there aren't that many strings.

*on the other hand, that tree frame may be more stable than some of my "proper" harps.

Thanks for the info, catt. I’ve got some reading to do now concerning harps. Just one more rabbit hole to explore.

Hearing the wind play a tree harp would seem truly magical!

Cheers,
Tom
