I don't know how many people here frequent the Show & Tell section of the AGF, but I wanted to suggest that Sage97 (Ernie) has a super appealing singing voice. Every time he puts something up in Show & Tell I am amazed. Take a listen...

I can’t help but keep thinking (after reading 100+ relies), Peter Gabriel. Something so unique about an almost hoarse voice with such range, pitch, and emotion.

I replied earlier but wanted to add a couple more. I didn't mention female because the original questions was who would I like to sound like. So, if I were a lady:
Linda Rondstadt Stevie Nicks Sheryl Crow Gretchen Peters (if you don't know her, check her out) Alison Krauss Males to add to my previous mentions: Donald Fagen Gordon Lightfoot Steven Stills and I know many would disagree, but Neil Young Edited to add a Gretchen Peters clip: https://youtu.be/j_UtS-gv8rY

I don't hear my voice sounding like Ernie's, but if you do, then I will certainly accept the compliment. It's very nice of you to make the comparison. I think that among those of us who are singers that we do the best we can with what we've been given. I remember reading in James Taylor's biography that he was quoted as wishing that he was a real tenor rather than a baritone and that he wished he had more upper range. I think James Taylor has learned to do a lot more with his voice and obtain considerably better tone compared to when he first started out. But I can identify with his wish to have more upper range. - Glenn

Art Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Bobby Hatfield. Actually, just about anyone has a better singing voice than I do.

One more shout out for Kenny Rankin. This concert is a master class in tone, breath control and nuance.
