Default FS: 2002 Taylor 714ce SOLD

My wife purchased this Taylor 714ce new in 2002 or 2003. She fell in love with its full, warm sound. (I fell in love with her when she played it for me on one of our dates.)

Grand Auditorium with a Venetian Cutaway
Western Red Cedar Top
Indian Rosewood Back and Sides
Tropical Mahogany Neck
Ebony Fretboard
Koa Rosette
Taylor/Fishman Prefix Stereo Blender

The guitar has a few minor dings/dents and a ~4.5" crack on the back, extending from one edge. It's difficult to see the crack in most light (check the outdoor shot). In 2006 I brought the guitar to The Music Emporium in Lexington, Mass. to have the crack evaluated. The gentleman there indicated that a repair was unnecessary, and he suggested it would be unsightly due to Taylor's polyester finish. I've been keeping an eye on it and haven't noticed any change.

OHSC shows exterior wear and has one broken hinge. This sale includes case keys, a truss rod tool, and the paperwork that came with the guitar.

Please let me know if you have questions or if you'd like to see additional pictures. This is my first sale on The Acoustic Guitar Forum, but I have 100% feedback on eBay under "tightbidness" and I've been buying and selling online since 2000.

$1400 shipped and insured to the lower 48. I'm in greater Boston and would love a local sale.

without preconceptions, AND , thinking i wanted a smaller bodied guitar, my 714ce LEPT to the fore front of a BUNCH of nice guitars i played that day. All i could say was "put in the box". Nice price here too.

Just responded to PMs...

Thanks for the kind words chas and birdfan. My wife also went into the guitar guitar buying experience without preconceptions and chose this particular guitar after playing a bunch of acoustics. It definitely spoke to her, and it will be missed.

There have been a few questions here and from local buyers about the nature of the crack. I've uploaded interior shots to the photobucket album. It does not appear as though the crack goes through the wood. Not sure if that's clear in the photos, but you can some really clean work on Taylor's part.

I'd get this but the crack is a bit discouraging =/
Is it repairable?
