Martian winds....
I love this stuff. Can't get enough of it. I've been watching the space program with interest since the Gemini program.

Great stuff indeed. Isn't that amazing? Heck, I remember Mercury.
At that age, my brother was the aviation nut, so I didn't have much choice. |

Pretty cool! I've been a NASA fan since I was about 7 or 8 years old. I would drop them a letter and they would send the coolest pamphlets back to me with amazing pictures.

Cold, windy, barren and 217M miles to the nearest 7-11. I think I’ll stay home.

Yep, space is the place! I think I saw someone wave from behind that second ridge.

I remember John Glenn in his shiny bright Jiffy Pop spacesuit! I even remember before that, when our rockets were blowing up on the launchpad. I was a tiny little guy at the time but keenly interested in space travel nonetheless.

Anybody else read "The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury? At one time I wanted to be an astronaut. I was told by an "authority" that girls couldn't be astronauts. Which was true at the time. I should have said to him, "Someone has to be the first. Why not me?" When I see those images of space walks, it thrills me.

Did you check out the Nasa Fly Bys where they recorded the sounds from Jupiter and Saturn?
That's worth a listen too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N10ySpqc9r4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SZcSeG4sQ8

RMP--I had heard this. It's fascinating, but I can't imagine how planets emit sounds, plus sound doesn't travel through the vacuum of space. I will have to read up and learn how this was done.

Although space is a virtual vacuum, this does not mean there is no sound in space. Sounds still exists in the form of electromagnetic vibrations and can be detected using specially designed instruments developed by NASA.

Thanks Ray. I also just looked online and found this information from NASA.

I would imagine that musicians/composers who create electronic music would be playing with and to these sounds. Wish my neighbor, Richard Teitelbaum was still alive so I could speak with him about this. This was his world. The website about him should you be interested: https://www.richardteitelbaum.org I have a synthesizer and I sing. Perhaps I will do a duet! Thanks for the inspiration, Ray!
