Default The South Wind - Teja Gerken & Doug Young

Teja and I had hoped to shoot some nice performance videos of some of the tunes on our new CD, but with everyone locked down, we had to try something from a distance. Teja shot his part not far from his place in the north bay, and I recorded my half in my side yard in the south bay. We're trying to get to a few more, but here's the first effort, The South Wind.

Love it - that’s a great tune and beautifully played. Love the remote work!

Your lovely rendition of this famous Irish waltz took me right back to Balboa Park in San Diego, where my bride and I used to attend the Ceili dance classes put on by the Pride of Erin every Wednesday evening back in the late 90s. The band, Cobblestone, use to play Southwind in a set with a waltz version of “Star of the County Down” and another waltz, the title of which I am not remembering at the moment.

Thanks everyone! It's always nice to learn new things, and doing this "remote duet" was a fun process to figure out. it sounds like we may have plenty of time to continue to explore this sort of thing.
