As usual Tom, thanks for your kindness!

We are close, Jamie. We strung this (and braced it) for lights. On some SJ's with a top like this, I might suggest mediums, or medium-lights. Of course, your fun will be in experimentation, but we did some A/B-ing with another SJ in the shop today that IS strung with mediums. You guitar spanked the other one.
And your SJ had strings on for what? maybe an hour... Even being a new-born,
it is loud, responsive and balanced. And of all the domestic species we've used, the Osage sounds the most like rosewood so far. Going out on a limb here, but I predict you're going to like this!

Steve
Jamie, if for some wacky reason you DONT like this, please lemme know asap! Hahaha

Spectacular beauty!!!

Enjoy

Paul

Certainly makes the eye-candy list. Fantastic.

Can't wait to hear what Jamie has to say when it arrives. The in-person thing for the first look is a powerful thing. Oh what a feeling.

And here's a couple of pics to peruse as well. It was a cloudy and windy day when we took these pics, so sorry if there's a little glare.

Thanks for looking!

This is without a doubt one of the most unique guitars I've seen come out of the Kinnaird shop. I love every appointment, especially the rosette! Oh, and not to mention it sounds amazing, as expected coming from these guys. Well done fellas, another home run!

Very pretty. That binding really set it off and the bois d'arc really looks good under finish. Quite a sparkle. Rosette of course is great.

I agree, John. Cherry was an inspired choice for the binding, just perfect with the Osage and Guatemalan rosewood. I know most people favor dark back and sides, but I think the Osage is super beautiful...but then I also think Pernambuco is beautiful.

Dave, take care...Nemoman has got our head swelling up as it is.
But your compliments are most appreciated! Getting ideas for the next one?

Thank you brother! Actually, the Osage sort of suggested the Cherry. With a rather wooden voice, it said "match the reddish-brown stripes running through the back". You know what we tell our wives, to hear is to obey.

Glad you like it Jamie--say, does this mean I should be expecting some Pernambuco in the mail?

Pernambuco and Osage orange are both a developed taste, IMO. I think cultivation of such taste is helped along by stellar performance. I have a couple of sets of O.O. but have never built with it. I am encouraged to try it by this example. Congratulations.

Beautiful to look at and beautiful to listen to. I was particularly drawn to the purple heat oval frame for the "K" and the little 12th fret inlay. Any story on that? Another stellar Kinnaird guitar (Texas edition)!

I think it sounds great - really deep but clear bass, note separation but lots of natural reverb; sweet, full trebles. Kind of a seductive sound - no harshness. I can't tell if it sounds like good rosewood or not, since it sounds better than most rosewood guitars I've played. The Port Orford may also be a big factor in me liking it so much - too many elements are new to me for me to tell. I just know I love the sound. It doesn't hurt that the playing and recording were so good on this demo - great job all around!
