Default Duets - Teja Gerken & Doug Young, CD Preview

Teja Gerken and I have just released a CD of duets that we've been working on, capturing many of the tunes that we've been performing live, plus a few new arrangements. We made a couple of related videos, one that talks through each of the tunes on the CD:

and a second walking through each of the 12 guitars we used:

Thanks! In honor of you being our first physical order from bandcamp, I sent you a signed copy. Not like it's collectible :-), but it looks like they will be rare at least for the time being, since it's unlikely we'll be allowed to be in the same room to sign more for quite a while now.

You can come visit and play anything you like, once we're allowed to be in the same room again!

Hi Doug, Hi Teja,
That looks and sounds beautiful, and the release is perfectly timed for stay at home listening!

Just ordered the CD, so whenever you're able.......

More importantly, though, I'd like to know what you can recommend for a guitar-finish & string-safe hand sanitizer?

It'll sell like hot-cakes!

Best regards,
Howard Emerson

Thanks, Howard! We'll get it out in the mail today.

Gryphon sent out a note last week - before they had to close - about how they were wiping down their guitars with sanitizer, but unfortunately didn't detail what they were using. Would have been nice to know as Teja and I were handing guitars to each other back and forth while shooting that video.

Hi Doug,
I was half kidding when I said that.

I believe the best thing is wash your hands before & after.

It’s GAS In The Time Of Covid.

Yeah, I suspect that's true, if your hands are clean to start with, all's well. Tho my immediate thought when Gryphon said they were wiping them down with something was "with what?" Soap is supposed to be the best all around, tho, and I think that's safe on pretty much all guitar finishes. Now that we're on lockdown here, there won't be much guitar swapping going on for a while anyway!

Looking forward to hearing how the CD sounds on your Marantz system!
