Default NGD - Froggy Bottom M

When Michael Millard announced he would be retiring at the end of this year I picked up the phone and started talking about doing one last build with the master. After a few exchanges we decided an Adi/EIR M model would provide the comfort and tone I was looking for. I wanted 1-3/4 2-5/16 string spacing, a custom carved mod-v neck to my specs, a pyramid bridge and an overall tonal target that we discussed.

It turned out even better than expected. It’s the most comfortable guitar I’ve ever held. The tone is outstanding and I’ll add sound clips after the instrument has settled in a bit.

I live a couple of hours from his shop, so I planned to forgo delivery and pick up the guitar myself. However, COVID changed that plan and FedEx was called into service. The guitar was shipped next day air - so it traveled from Vermont to Tennessee to Connecticut, then overland to my home (sweaty palms). When it was delivered they didn’t want a signature because of the virus. When I said, “I hope it’s in 1 piece.” The driver said, “oh yeah. I saved it for the last delivery. It’s been sliding around in the back of the van all afternoon.” Yikes! Well, fortunately it arrived in perfect shape because of a very skilled packing job.

I love this guitar and it fits perfectly with my larger K and smaller C models. The trifecta is complete.

Every Froggy NGD has me jealous. No exception here. Congratulations on getting a well-traveled guitar.

Thanks for all the supportive comments from my AGF friends. Now the great string debate begins. Michael loves the JP 80/20 lights and they sure sound good on this guitar. But I’ll try them all. It’s all fun.
