Default Price check - Martin 000-18GE

I'm thinking about trading my 2009 Martin 000-18GE. I've looked online and can't find a single one for sale at the moment. Reverb doesn't show this model in the price guide. Can somebody give me the value for one that is in very good condition, completely original, no mods. Thanks

I have seen a couple original ones, not custom shop, in the past few months, excellent/mint in the $2500-$2700 range.

Used/mint can be bought all day long for $2200 - $2300. The 40% off price back when this model was still in production was around $2750 brand new.

Incredible guitars.

Have really held their value.

I am currently in the market for a new Standard series 000-18.

all of them new and/or used are priced higher than what my local dealer quoted for new.

I used to see them priced to make me think I could make an offer and get one in the $2200-$2300 range. Same for the D-18GE. But I’ve been casually looking for the past six months or so and have seen a huge jump in everyone’s asking prices, private sellers and stores. Checked out Reverb’s sale history for the D-18GE and those seem to go in the $2800 range now.

Prices are up a little from earlier in the year. Id say $2400-2600 is a good price. There is a D18GE on here that is asking $3200 with no luck. He says hes mad at lowballers but honestly Id buy it right now at the right price. Im afraid to even offer anything because hed say Im lowballing. I think $2600 is right.

Sold mine <sigh> about 2 months ago for $2200 cash.

Probably could have sold it for a couple hundred more had I been patient.

The fact that there's so few out there leads me to think prices are on the rise.

Any modest boost to asking prices that dealers and private sellers are currently enjoying is only because dealers are low on inventory from the lockdowns and many builders are way behind in production and just starting to spool up again.

A D-18GE should sell for the same price as a 000-18GE. I would not pay $2800 for a used example when I remember being able to buy one new for just under that amount when they were still in production.

Patience, grasshopper.

I sold mine a couple months ago for $2550. The aforementioned $2500-2700 depending on condition seems accurate, and until the market dies down, I wouldn't assume otherwise - no need to sell yourself short.

You can get a brand new dealer custom D18GE for around 2800. A hundred or so more for a V neck version. It just won't have the model number or the paper label. Reno's sells that model pretty frequently.

I bought one of Reno's custom D-18(GE) models with the MLO neck and it's a great guitar. Not sure it transfers all the Mod-V does in the original as when I play it back to back with my 75th anniversary D-18 (essentially a D-18GE) the latter always has a little more (albeit small) of everything. The Reno custom is very well done. I believe mine was $2995 new?
