I placed my order and sent the deposit at the beginning of Dec 2014. I think the work they did to improve dust collection in the shop extended the time frame though.

It was most certainly a project that had greater impact than foreseen.

The best laid plans and all...

Nevertheless, we press on

Congrats to you and your uncle. Ed is a delight to deal with. A wealth of knowledge, guidance, and patience. Sounds like he makes a decent guitar too

It's done!

I didn't realize they came with the clear pick guards (not my cup of tea) but Ed graciously offered to remove it.

Where would the Tasmanian Blackwood fall as compared to the Walnut?

Hi Hat,

Blackwood is a 'somewhere in the middle' wood. Where it lands will depend a lot on which set of Blackwood is compared to which set of walnut.

It will likely be warmer than rosewood, brighter than mahogany.

Ed,

After looking at the pictures you sent of my NL-00, I realized why it looked like something was different from your previous builds of this model. The older ones have the sound hole placed lower along with one extra fret (20 as opposed to 19). Why the change?
