Thanks Tom, but I don't get the "open link in a new tab" or anything similar when I right click. Not to worry; if I did see the images, it would just make my GAS worse

Well, the guitar is now completed!
I'll take delivery on Thursday of this week, with an in-person visit with Rebecca....convenient that we're both still in Oregon, and only a couple of hours apart...of course, I liked it better when Rebecca and her family were in Eugene, but the drive over to Bend is not too hard. In this case, the current plans are for Rebecca to drive over this way...but I'm up for anything! I'm terrifically excited to get my hands on this little beast, as one would expect. Here are the glamour-shots that Rebecca took today:

So some schedules ended up being re-arranged, and I got the new guitar a couple of days ago...barely minutes after it had been strung-up. Okay, maybe a couple of days after strings! Given the newness, there are a few rough-edges on the sound...but oh what a sound it is!
Here's the deal: Don't call this guitar a "couch guitar", although it absolutely is one very comfortable little beast in the lap (14.25" lower bout, and the body is just over 18" long)...and this is because in front of microphones, this guitar (now renamed "Small Concert") is a truly wonderful sound...crisp, clear, resonant...even at, you know, only a few days old! Further, I have no doubt that on-stage, whether for solo guitar, voice accompaniment, or in an ensemble setting the Small Concert (or SC, I suppose) will cut through the mix to be perfectly well-represented to any audience... ...and hence the name change. Rebecca has her versions of the 12-fret Parlor, the Concert (OM), and of the Mod-Dread...and this new guitar fits right in as a 14-fretter, in-between the Parlor and the Concert (and based on the "lines" of the Concert); hence, Small Concert. It has Rebecca's signature sound, as well as her stacked-tile Rosette, with complimentary stacked-tiles on the unique headstock. I love everything about this critter, including the fact that it fits into a "classical" sized Visesnut case...really portable. Here are a couple of down and dirty videos...I probably will hold off on doing more recording until after this guitar has a better understanding that it's really a guitar, and not still an ensemble of pieces of a tree!

Beautiful playing, and beautiful sounding guitar. Congratulations!
I was wondering about what you are using on your fingernails? |

Congrats. Gorgeous guitar that sounds every bit as good as it looks in your hands. Wonderful clarity and balance!

Hey, maybe it's because we went to college together, but I really enjoyed School Days! Wow, super playing on the beautiful new Urlacher! I've never been to Oregon--maybe I need to get out there! Tim

Tim,
If you’ve never been to Oregon, you’ should make the trip. The state is full of some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. The area around Portland, particularly the Columbia River Gorge is spectacular. My youngest and his family have lived there for quite some time and we love going to visit. Jimmy |

Thanks. It's an amazing little guitar, and has in fact improved markedly since I took these videos! Quote:
Tim, Tim, Tim...you know that you have an open-invitation to come solo, or with family members. We will show you a darned good time! Thanks for this...yes, last night as I was enjoying playing the Small Concert (for a couple of hours, sounding even better than these videos), I then switched to Rebecca's Concert model. The family-similarity is noticeable/striking, and has me *really* happy with the two guitars!

And Larry’s signature tone too, I would add.

Thank you.
The guitar is already sounding more broken in...here's the proof:

It's been a while since I updated this thread....the Urlacher Small Concert has become my "go to" guitar for serious practice, couch playing, Facebook "live" streams, and now for some upcoming concerts that I've got.
I can't begin to explain how much I love this guitar, quite frankly... Here are a few tunes that were from a recent Facebook live-streaming concert (and these are all available in "HD" on YouTube, for best audio quality):

Sounds so good, Larry. What are you using for live sound reinforcement these days? Tim
