As it happens, being ignored is a blessing for us.

Became interested in guitar after I retired. Geography or brand recognition did not play a role in my choice of guitars. I played a few guitars in several stores and bought a couple that sounded good to me. I still love them.

Fact? I've never heard this expressed before. Perhaps you could give an example. I grew up in New England and don't have any distaste or preference for specific brands based on where I'm from.

I'm not sure where in the USA you think Indiana lies within your listed choices, so I didn't vote. Since I was born and bred in the midwest, I'd say it definitely affected my preferences in music and the types of instruments used to produce it, more so as an adult as compared to my earlier years. As far as brands go? Hmmm...nah, I'm pretty indifferent towards any one particular brand.

I'm pretty sure we'd categorize IN as either the west coast, Eastern Europe, or West Ohio.

I can't really say where I am "from". I was raised in northern New England (New Hampshire and Maine) but I've since lived in New York City, southern England, Texas, Southern California, Massachusetts, Florida, and, now, a suburb of Washington DC in Virginia.
