Oh NO, Brent!

That's terrible! You have my total sympathy! I have known quite a few people who have had that happen to them. I hope you heal quickly!

Pure poetry! your ability to take a song and turn it into your own and share with everyone is performance art!

Thanks Glenn, the older I get the more I appreciate this song - "though my life's been good to me there's still so much to do" - no truer words have ever been spoken!

Fantastic rendition, really enjoy your youtube site.

Thank you Cypress Knee!

I'm so glad you like this and so appreciative that you posted here to provide some feedback and support.

I, too, appreciate this song after all these years, and I think for the same reason you do.

And it's very good to hear that you like my YouTube channel. Can you believe that I am at 99 posted videos?? I need to work on #100!

Thanks so much for your comments!

Thank you Kev!

I am glad you thought this came out okay. When I think of so many John Denver songs that I knew how to play in the past, the one that really jumps out at me is this one -- Poems, Prayers and Promises. It seemed so representative of him and his music even though I don't suppose that this song was a big hit. I have always liked this song.

Thanks Kev!

Default Yes, again

Hey Glenn,
well, you've done it again.

Your sensitivity to the songs is so apparent.
And after the Simon and Garfunkel stuff, John Denver is the perfect follow-up material.
I only wish I had thought to request this of you.

Your prolific postings are enjoyed by many of us.
Please continue.
T

ps...
perhaps you could consider getting a couple decent guitars?
you get a lot from those entry level models you play, but if you just had a quality instrument...just a thought.👍

Hi Woodbox!

MAN!!! You sure made me laugh!!! A little light satire can be so very funny! Very good!

I am very pleased that you like my version of this old song. It seems a little poignant now, after all these years, when we know the rest of the story after John Denver wrote and recorded "Poems, Prayers and Promises."

I hope I have not overdone the number of recordings that I have posted here in Show & Tell. I am not quite at two years since I started my YouTube channel, and I am now working on recording my 100th video. So that is about one new video per week. In general, that is the schedule I have been trying to work at. I have had a couple breaks because of my two hip surgeries this last winter, and so in some weeks I have done more than one video.

It's very generous of you to encourage me to keep at it.

Thanks so much for your comments!

- Glenn

Glenn, beautiful job, as always! I'm a fan of Shanghai Breezes, and think it would be a wonderful fit for your voice. Thanks for sharing!
