Remembering Doug Sahm
I just saw this great documentary on Amazon;
''Sir Doug & the Genuine Texas Cosmic Groove'' I got the ''Doug Sahm and the Band'' in the $2 rack, it had been a failure with three songs that I liked, but it had Dylan, Bromberg and Dr. John. It should have been better. I didn't know why they were playing with this guy. I didn't make the connection to the Sir Douglas Quartet until many years later when I looked up Doug Sahm on the internet. This show tells Doug's whole story and it's a groove. Doug was an original, I loved learning more about him. |

Doug Sahm was so good. How many guys START on the pedal steel?
Love SDQ but just as much LOVED the Texas Tornados. Here's a SDQ by TT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZOC3En5uUk btw, Why do I get "error" when I try to imbed url for YT to show on the page? Last edited by willysunday; 02-03-2019 at 09:11 PM. |

At the end of the Amazon documentary, they show shawn leading the Texas Tornadoes. Shandon was in the show talking about his father but they never showed him playing, is he in the Texas Tornadoes? What does he play?
