Default Non evasive method for adding a second humbucker in archtop?

Howdy all,
I would like to add a second humbucker to my archtop that currently has a mini floating.

I’m looking for ways I could add this humbucker I have that can be reversed if I don’t want it later. I’m not worried about the wiring side. It’s mainly the mounting scenario.

I’ve thought of using two sided tape, or somehow making it float off the pickguard (this one I want to add is a very light weight unit)

Of corse I don’t want to ruin the finish, it’s on a gorgeous sunburst gloss Godin 5th Avenue; I think it’s poly finish.

I should add whatever method I finally use would be the only way I’ll ever mount it so it needs to be solid enough to last in case I like it. If it doesn’t then it’ll be removed.

Thanks

That’s what I’m thinking but I can’t find a bracket to fit a third party humbucker that does not already have a side mount tab.

The humbucker I already have is critical to my end goal but does not have a mounting bracket other then ears/tabs on the base.

Maybe I could make a metal base plate that extended past the side and stepped up to the scratch plate then use the mounting tabs on the base of the humbucker I have.

Any other ideas or bracket sources?

I make my own pickups from scratch, from the plate to the magnets to the frame work.

If I was in your situation, I would consider making a base plate, but really a photo of what you have helps.

That looks pretty thick to be used as a suspended pickup.

My guitar comes in next week so I’m not 100% sure how much room I have.
The pickup is about 1” thick I think. It’s in my soundhole on another guitar at the moment.

So that’s one of the reasons I’m also looking for solutions to mount it to the surface in case that’s the only way.

I’d prefer to float it if there’s room though.
