Default Good Repair shops in NYC

I am looking for recommendations for a good acoustic guitar repair shop/person in the NYC area. Since Mandolin Brothers and Matt Umanov have both closed, I'm not sure where to go anymore. Help!

When I lived in NYC I used Paul for a lot of my acoustic guitar repairs. Never had an issue and each repair was done with perfection.

In Brooklyn, and well worth the trip, is Patrick's
http://www.patricksguitarrepair.com/

His prices are a little more budget minded but his work is stellar

As a guy whose parents still live in Bay Ridge, and who gigs in the neighborhood still... this is a great post... so thank you.

Know the Ridge well. Changed a lot since the 70s-80s, in a good way (grew up in Coney Island).

And Patrick really is a treasure. I met him when he had a small hole in the wall space in a residential building. He has since moved into a store front and, through “word of mouth”, has built up a nice clientele. These days You would have to wait a while to get work done but he is worth the wait.

The repair shop at Matt Umanov's is still open. Just make an appointment.

Alternatively, I recommend Jeremy at Rudy's Music Soho.

brooklynlutherie.com, 3rd and 3rd in the Old Can Factory. Lovely pair of ladies, and one of them is my daughter.

Almost forgot about Evan, good guy, knows his stuff. I remember him from when he was working the guitar section on 48th street. I think it was Manny’s but it might have been Sam Ash. Last I recall he was on the upper west side working out of his apartment....good rates.

Another endorsement for Evan, I've been working with him for years. Great guy, great work, great rates. Easy to get to on the 1 train if you don't want to drive!

- and if you're OK with a drive down Route 9 in NJ, these guys are my go-to and worth every minute of the trip:
