I book an acoustic guitar acoustic bass duo at my bar. It works well. I will tell you get 1 who sings. I had a solo guitarist who expected double pay when he added a non singing bass player. I offered$25 more. Bass players can add a lot but in this context not so much. Vocals rule in small groups. I've seen great singers play simple chords and pack my place while the great instrumentalists played to 5 people.

How to get guitar and bass together? Do you know any guitar + bass duos? Any transcriptions, any books on this?
I do have a looper pedal so I like to use that for first playing some bass lines with my bass and then play some chords over it with the guitar or the other way around - but it is just noodling around for me at this point. So I would like to improve that

Thanks a lot!
I believe that Homespun has a couple of videos by the Hot Tuna guys on acoustic guitar and bass playing together.

Have a listen Martin Harley and Daniel Kimbro...

Yeah, they do a lot of Weissenborn/Bass too. So?

Jim Croce on 12-string/vocals (Ingrid Croce on harmony vocals), John Stockfish (ex-Gordon Lightfoot) on bass:

You get an eight-string guitar, of course

no doubt that both Chris T and Edgar Meyer are great musicians but that is a horribly hard room - sounds like a cathedral!

Yeah, the cell phone recording doesn't help much with the audio either. I debated between posting a link to the studio recording or this live version and went with the latter because I figured the visual was more important in a YouTube context.
