I really like the look of that rosette!
I agree, Steve. The rosette's additional width on the bridge side gives it a something of a 'necklace' contour, which will probably be accentuated even further once the shiny inlays are added. Looks good!

Man, I've loving the rosette as is--don't know that I'd put any bling in it!
It's really looking great, Tom--that headplate's gonna be killer too!

Hey everyone, thanks for following the thread as well as your really nice comments. I really like the eccentric look, it is just a little different, while still staying within Steve and Ryan's style, which is important to me.

Oh Nemoman, please don't get me questioning the design again ...My very first thread and some of my first posts on the forum were about this darn rosette design! I think it will be great and the bling that is going in will also give Steve and Ryan something to build off of for the fretboard markers....just a reminder of a little bit of what it will look like....I have not posted the whole drawing as I kind of wanted that to be a surprise for everyone.

Well as promised, the bling has arrived. Here is most of the rosette finished. All is laid out with some inlaying left to do...Thank you Ryan and Steve for tolerating me!

First, Koa diamonds cut out and laid out on rosette:

Next the Koa diamonds are inlayed into the rosette:

And finally, the paua is all cut and laid out awaiting inlay tomorrow...

Now I think it looks great flat, I can't wait to see it with some lacquer on it!!!

Thank you very much Cigarfan, the koa will really come out better with the finish so hopefully the color and figure will show.

Thanks Marcus, it may not be for everybody, but then the guitar is not being built for everybody hahahahahaha I think it is going to really work when you see the rest of the design as well!

Looking good, Tom! You must be thrilled to see your vision coming to fruition--can't wait to see your other design elements as this comes together. Congrats!
