Default First six string guitar alternate history... Outlander.

If any of you are familiar with the TV show Outlander (I am not, only saw a trailer) it's apparently about someone who travels back in time to pre-revolutionary times.

What caught my attention in the trailer was one scene where a 6 string guitar was leaning up against a chair.

I googled and found another picture which appears to be of the same prop.

My understanding was that, while 5 courses guitars were around (one Stradivari is still playable, 4 pairs and a single "E" string?), that the modern 6 string/tuning was first done by Gaetano Vinaccia in 1779 in Naples, Italy.

So here's the screen captures.

Does that look like purely a prop, or is it some playable replica of something?

I have in my possession an 1870s Martin and there are some similarities.
