Default Guitar identification: Sargent archtop 1940's?

I bought a Sargent archtop at an auction in Anchorage, Alaska for $50. It was missing all hardware and the top and back were separating from the sides. I have been "repairing" it to make it playable. I have not been able to find any information on Sargent guitars. It appears like it is mid-century. No other marking I have found aside from the headstock. It has fabric tape on back that may be some kind of bracing? Has anyone ever heard of this brand or have any information?

I have no info on this, but a slotted headstock on an archtop is awesome.

Just a hunch, but the typography on the logo makes me think 1970s, which is sort of late for inexpensive archtops. I'll be interested in what anyone else can contribute on this one.
