Default Source for figured Honduras Mahogany?

I'm considering having a Honduran Mahogany guitar made. 'The Tree' is out of my price range. However, I'd like something with figure. Is there a good source that you can recommend that I look at?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think it comes down to checking with all the usual suppliers. LMI, Stew Mac, Hearne, Hibdon, Allied, to see if they have a set that you like the look of. They all have decent photo's of each set generally, with the exception of Hearne, and the recently sold Allied, they tend to only have a small selection of photos of the inventory, you may have to call them.

Also, have you narrowed it down to the type of figure you are looking for?, beeswing, curly, quilted, ribbon stripe. I think that some people may be able to lead you in a good direction if you can describe what you may be looking for.

Smile Talk to your Luthier

Your builder may have a supply or stash... John Kinnaird certainly found me some beautiful Mahogany a couple years ago.
I think it was in his wood locker.

Have fun

Paul

Do you have a luthier picked out? I would start there. Not every guitar maker likes to work with wood that they have not had an opportunity to know how it was cut, stored and dried. BTW - I just had a guitar made last year with Honduran Mahogany. I chose a straight grain set and it is a stellar guitar. Good luck in getting the wood that you want.

Best,
Jayne

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'd love some quilted but curls are fine too if quilted are hard to find.

Thanks.
