Hotel California is instantly recognizable. It's not strumming though but picking.

Over the Hills and Far away is another great one - a combination of picking and then strumming.

That was the first song that came to my mind too. A few other Who and Kinks songs can work as instrumentals strummed too I'd think off hand.

Find some local folks that play old time music, or play along on Youtube videos if you would like to try it.

Many of the tunes are based on fiddle tunes and have up to 5 parts, although most follow an AABB progression.

Even the "songs" can be fun to strum, with something like the Carters "Keep On The Sunny Side" being a typical example.

Old time music is great fun to play with others in a jam situation, but it's also fun to play solo and an excellent way of eventually working the melody in as you play chords. Before long you'll be adding the "Carter Scratch" to your chords or even venturing into flatpicking.

Just my opinion...after playing a verse/chorus of any of the suggested songs without the vocal, I’d be feeling that I’m boring the heck out of any listener, especially since they’ll naturally be expecting it. If singing isn’t what you’re comfortable with, there are songs that will deliver as instrumentals, but not those suggested, and not that I have any to offer off the top of my head.

(Contrasting opinion) Some songs suggested: yes, I'd agree--others suggested: no, assuming reasonably competent playing. Some strumming playing styles can be quite compelling even without singing. If the chords/voicings and/or rhythm elements are attended to by the player they can work.

That's where "Pinball Wizard" came in my thoughts. The famous recording is already arranged so that a strumming acoustic can carry it, and it uses rhythm, dynamics and contrasting sections that help keep a concert audience's interest. The moment one hits that opening riff, some section of the audience's ears will perk up.

For some of the other songs the player would have to come up with their own arrangement to help make a strumming with no vocals more interesting to a seated audience.

Of course any non-vocal performer has a handicap speaking about general audiences.

My favorite songs to strum seem to be ones with a lot of different parts that people recognize. For example, Band on the Run by Paul McCartney fits the bill. Also the Rolling Stones' Angie is a good one.

Any others you might recommend that might fit the bill?
I don't understand how you can "strum" a song.
if you are just "strumming" you are just going through a chord progression, and that is not a "song" as such.
