Default Brace repair in San Antonio - recommendations?

Picked up a Taylor Custom 516E recently...going in I knew of loose back bracing but the price was right and the guitar sounds [with the exception of "buzzing" on certain notes] and plays wonderfully. Obviously I want to have the braces re-glued [from checking w a .002" feeler gauge, a couple of the back braces on one side of the spine have spots that allow the feeler gauge to pass under] but have no idea to whom I can comfortably entrust this guitar for the inspection/repairs. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Guitar Tex is the best shop in San Antonio by far. They can do just about any repair and do an excellent job. Everyone that works there is an experienced professional.

It's my understanding that the guy (John Thurston) that used to be at Guitar Tex moved back north, and they aren't handling the bigger jobs anymore. I'd recommend making the short drive to South Austin to Straight Frets.

As for general set up type stuff, Clay at St. Cloud music is very good. Works out of his garage.

I came here to relay the same information. John was great and it was a bummer to see him leave.

Go to Lark Guitars right up the road from Guitar Tex. Their repair guy Jamie is the real deal.

Also check out Spacetone Music up in Alamo Heights. Excellent new and used gear that is really well set up, so I suspect they have a good shop.
