That’s a great looking mahogany top wood. As nice as some Koa.

I found the price a little too high fir something that could potentially spend time in a hostile environment,so i bought the Harley Benton GS travel mahogany for less than€100 and couldn't be happier, especially when i then done a comparison with a taylor and found the HB more tonefull to my ears.

Walked into my local Taylor shop with a particular Koa picked out, but after playing several I left with the 2018 Road Show LTD figured sapele finish. I can’t put this little guitar down - so much fun to play and amazing sound for it’s size!

Little bit of an old thread but some of us have new mini’s I'm enjoying this guitar more than I even hoped for. So easy to just grab it and play/practice.

Here's my e-Koa. Really like the size. And because some people were wondering how it compares in size with a 00, its also shown next to a Martin 00-18V.

I'm curious as to what strings people have settled on...

Beautiful Koa guitar! I like your guitar stands too, very unique!

I use Elixirs PB Nanoweb 12-53 on my Koa Mini.

Thanks! I wish I could say the stands were my idea. I built them based on some I saw for sale online.

I use the same Elixirs. Wondering what lighter gauge strings would sound like.

I used to use Elixir PB Nanoweb 11-52. Sounded ok too but softer n more comfortable for d fingers actually.

Ok, I needed a short scale bass so I traded my Hog mini in on a Fender Mustang bass.
Not to worry, I'm taking advantage of the 48 month financing and ordered a Spruce Rosewood version. $12 a month couldn't resist. Back ordered so I'll post pics when I get it.

I bought a 324CE Taylor and acquired a new Mahogany Mini. I hate to admit the Mini is more comfortable and fun to play than the 324CE; however, the sound is not comparable. I kind of wished I would of saved my money and got a Koa to begin with!

Default GS Mini Owners’ Club

This is my first guitar I bought five weeks ago. Never played before. I wanted a travel guitar as I stay in hotels for extended periods for work and I can only watch so many reruns of Gunsmoke and the Flying Nun. I did a lot of research and watching YouTube and came across the GS Mini. So on my way back home I found a Craigslist listing in one of the towns I pass through. I am now using GuitarTricks.com and JustinGuitars.com to learn. I am so bummed it took me so long to pickup the guitar. Shoreline Music was only 2-miles from my house! Stopped in there once to buy my wife a tuner for her classical guitar.

Looking forward to all the valuable information from this forum.

$12 a month for 2 years is really an attractive price to own a GS Mini (Spruce/Rosewood) version. Good buy!

I too find the GS Mini a very comfortable size to play. You got a Mahogany Mini, which is actually the favourite top wood here in AGF. It is backed by a poll done sometime back. You can still vote in the poll if you haven’t. Here’s the link:

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=532626

My vote is for the Mini Koa...
