I have an Iba
Hi everbody. I left my Ibanez acoustic guitar in its gigbag in my sister's room a month ago and some parts of the gigbag caught some sunlight daily for like an hour from the window when sunset starts at 6:15 pm. Can my guitar be damaged or I shouldn't worry?. I was told that evening sun doesn´t do any damage. The room´s temperature on average has been 22 celsius degrees with a humidity of 50 per cent.

Evening sunlight? You are fine. If there's any damage, you would know it.

How can I know if there is damage?

If you have to ask, there's no damage. Do you notice anything different about it? Has the finish melted? Is it unplayable?
Really, evening sunlight through a gig bag is not gonna hurt your guitar. You just want to avoid exposing it to periods of hot, intense direct sunlight. |

It's not the sunlight per se. It's exposure to intense heat that can damage a guitar. Evening sunlight is very unlikely to expose your guitar to intense heat.

You need to be a lot more concerned about the heat directed at the guitar than if it’s soaking up some vitamin D. The sun isn’t your enemy, heat is. If the room the guitar is stored in stays at a normal consistent temperature that you would be comfortable in then the sunlight isn’t going to damage the guitar at all. We try to avoid storing ours in direct sunlight because it is possible to heat the guitar. Evening sun doesn’t generate as much heat.
