Huge +1 on this.
Martin Barre is such a good guitarist, they named some chords after him.

Tull was a great live band too.

The solo on Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison. Short and sweet - not sure who played it.

I think that is a solo of Eric Clapton, it's beautiful indeed

Clapton played a lead part on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The solo on "Something" is all George.

You're right, my mistake. I always thought Clapton played the solo on "Something" as well. Kudos to George!

Amos Garrett on Maria Muldaur's "Midnight At The Oasis". The best guitar solo in a top 40 hit. starts around 1:20 but luscious playing throughout.

That Gary Moore intro is so haunting and beautiful. Especially live. RIP.

His solo during a live performance of "My Morphine" might be the only time a guitar solo literally brought a tear to my eye.

(The only other time I remember a solo doing so during a live performance was The Del McCroury Band's Jason Carter's fiddle solo during "The Mountain" with Steve Earle)

Mark Knopfler on Private Investigations, or Telegraph Road, and I’ve also got to add David Gilmour on Comfortably Numb
