Default Any Ford mechanics here ?

I am waiting on a reply from Ford Corporate offices, but thought I would ask here while I am waiting.

I have a 2018 Ford F150, 5.0, 10 speed auto. It has 41,000. The transmission is very noisy, rattles and sounds like its falling apart. Still shifts good, doesnt slip etc.

Dropped into my local dealer to report the issue and have them check it out. The service manager and tech tells me it's normal for this transmission and nothing wrong.

In my 42 years of driving, never heard a trans sound like this. Much less be told it's normal for this model trans.

Hoping we might have a Ford guru here that can help me understand.

Thanks
Bill

I work on Fords daily (insert fix or repair daily joke here), but nothing newer than 2016. 2018 was the year they added the 10 speed trans to their lineup.

Found this.

You’re welcome! Go to the dealership armed with this TSB information. It’s absolutely irresponsible of them to tell you that it’s normal when there’s a TSB about the issue.

Checking TSBs came to mind. I've had dealers miss that.

PSA look up TSBs and other product equivalents as a habit. Especially as you get toward the end of or just after warranty. Not just cars. I've had laptop screens and keyboards replaced that way as well as some hope appliance and HVAC fixes.

Yep it’s great information. Some people confuse them with recalls, but it’s not.
