Default New Fingerstyle Tunes

Hey --

I've just posted eight new fingerstyle tunes you might enjoy. Seven are totally original, one is a re-arrangment of an old folk song (made into a crusader hymn) and the familiar Brother John.

I played them all on a Martin D-28 (bought new in 1999). The tunes were recorded in the chapel at Union Seminary in Richmond Virginia on a Zoom H4. They were mixed and mastered by Jim Mohr.

All are available for free download at my website: www.daveshiflett.com. If you get a chance to listen let me know what you think ([email protected]).

Nice pickin. Are you mainly using a flat pick and hybrid style? Love the sound of your guitar too. Enjoyed how some of the songs developed. Thanks for sharing.

Good stuff, Dave. You've got some cool riffs and progressions going in those pieces. I'd like to hear more melody in songs, but your compositions made good listening anyway! Thanks for posting them.

thanks. i use a thumb pick and two metal finger picks -- fairly light guage. i have played them without finger picks, which gives me an extra finger, but not as much presence, especially when playing live

thanks for the good words. for some of them the progression is the melody. i hope to someday add a cello, which will strengthen the melodies. thanks for listening.
