Martin M38 1983 neck join
Hi everybody I’m new member here
recently I had trying a martin M38 from 1983 I’m not sure if is normal a plate on neck join (inside of guitar body) Or is neck repair ... please anybody know? Sound is good but I would like to know if neck was repaired Opinions over this model?... price 2000$ thanks Ok I do not know how attach picture, I’m trying ... Sorry hajaja |

I believe you’ll find that, as a standard series Martin, it has a dovetail neck joint. Also, Martin usually stamps the model number and serial number on the neck block.

I still think about an M-38 from that era that got away. Sigh...
I did enough research to learn that there’s no truss rod, just in case that helps. Stellar guitars IMO, albeit from a sample size of one several years ago.

Before I bought my M 36 many years ago, I tried quite a few, and it seemed to me for some reason M 36s and M 38s were all in need of neck resets about a decade earlier that you'd think they should. I mentioned this to the sales guy, and he said his did too, but if I really wanted one, he was selling his because he's gone to a wider neck. Since he was the original owner, Martin paid for the work before I bought the guitar. So check the neck angle. I had 20+ trouble free years with it.
