'63 Martin D-18, vintage player!
$2750 net, firm.
Serial number 191204 was stamped on Aug. 26, 1963 and it cleared final inspection on Nov. 7th that same year. It was built in the old Martin factory using:
It plays great, thanks to a recent (Oct. 2019) neck reset & re-fret performed by Kimsey Lutherie. A new bone nut & saddle were installed at the same time to complete the set-up. New solid bridge pins & end pin were also installed. There is a strap button in the neck heel. Besides the maintenance/service items above, the guitar is otherwise stock and has not been modified from original. There are plenty of handling marks, & play wear throughout, and a few small cracks on one side where the guitar would rest on your leg have been glued. There has been no finish touch-up or over spray to 'improve' the cosmetics, so the guitar presents an honest patina earned from many years of good use. The original case is included with the sale, though it is not suitable for shipping the guitar in. The guitar will ship in a modern Martin hard case, and will be packaged & insured appropriately. The original case can be shipped separately.
