Default How to warm up?

Any tips on warming up before starting to practice songs?

If I just start trying to play a song right off I have spaghetti fingers.

thanks

I play scales and and some blues riffs to limber up my hands before getting into songs. I start at a medium pace and pick up the tempo until I'm really working my fingers.

Play tunes in super slow motion.
This can not only be a great warmup, but it can really help you develop the tune and your ears ina deep way. On the whole, unless you have a lot of practice time, most of the time exercises and things can be a time suck.

I need to warm up for 15 minutes every time I pick up a guitar. Its interesting, I posed a similar question here one time and a large amount of people responded they need virtually no time to warm up. Just pick it up and cut loose. I can't do that.

I say same as warning up a car in the mornings. Just go slow until it warms up. I agree with min7b5, slow mo what you are wanting to practice anyways.
