Edward Bear (he who went #3 US Billboard with Last Song in 1972) scored a second Top 40 US Billboard hit with Close Your Eyes in 1973 (rose to #37).

Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods recorded the 1974 #1 US Billboard song Billy, Don't Be A Hero. But Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods had two additional US Billboard Top 40 hits: Who Do You Think You Are (#15, 1974) and The Heartbreak Kid (#39, 1974)

No.

In addition to their year 1972 #1 US Billboard song Brandy (You're A Fine Girl), Looking Glass hit #33 US Billboard in 1973 with Jimmie Loves Marie-Anne.

Any record that climbs into the US Billboard Top 40 is by definition a hit.

Now, here's a true One Hit Wonder--Barry McGuire with his year 1965 #1 US Billboard record Eve Of Destruction--his only US Billboard Top 40 hit as a solo act; with Child Of Our Times, he went #72 US Billboard in 1965 (the flip side to that 45rpm record is a much better song, in my opinion--Upon A Painted Ocean), and a year later he got to #62 US Billboard with Cloudy Summer Afternoon.

Addendum: Of course, as a member of The New Christy Minstrels, Barry McGuire participated in a couple of US Billboard Top 40 records, including one he co-wrote with Randy Sparks--Green Green (#14 US Billboard, 1963).

By the way, Barry McGuire gives a wonderful screen performance as a hippy musician in 1967's cinematic release The President's Analyst (starring James Coburn)--specifically, the scene where he strums his acoustic guitar while singing his original composition Inner Manipulations.

How about if you remember that and the rest of us sit around and reminisce about these great old songs and how happy they made us?

My comment was intended to reflect the fact that the term "one hit wonder" is frequently regarded as pejorative and disparages the artist.

A few favorites, a bit of a toss-up between them, but I'd have to go with the first one:

"Something in the Air" - Thunderclap Newman

and

"Ride, Captain Ride" - the Blues Image, along with "Vehicle" by The Ides Of March...

Always liked "Spirit in the Sky."

Don't know if this would really be called a "hit" except for in the U.K., but went through a Joy Division phase back in the '80s.
