Those are such great guitars. Handbuilt in Japan, hard to beat that.

This is extremely wise advice. Sometimes when you do mods on Yamahas, you go back to what they installed initially because it just friggin' sounds better, lol.

I just purchased an LS16 with rosewood B/S. I already own an FS5 which has mahogany B/S. In researching the higher-end L series 26, 36, and 56 I noticed these models are only available with rosewood B/S. They do offer a 16M and 6M with mahogany B/S. I thought that was odd and left me wondering if they will ever offer the higher ends in mahogany.

Their new FG9 comes in both mahogany and rosewood versions.

I also just bought a rosewood LS16. What a great guitar!
