Default Acoustic guitar ecstasy...America (band)

Amazing is the word that comes to mind..I just received and listened to the 5 original America cd's from the Original Album Series which includes the first five releases from the band in one package. This is an acoustic guitar players dream. I have heard of the "greatest hits" from the band but wow, so many hidden acoustic songs that I had never heard. Too many to list!! It is quite possible that I will be spending the next few years learning to play these amazing tunes. Play On....

They are one of my favorite groups. I have several of their songs in my playlist, including the very first song I ever learned - Horse with No Name.

Did they remaster those albums for digital? Or remix? (I hate when classic stuff is remixed - all of a sudden you hear an instrument you never heard before, and its a 'WTF?' moment).

I love the Steven Wilson re-mixes.
His re-mix of 'Aqualung' by Jethro Tull is outstanding.

He's also done Yes, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, ELP, XTC and Chicago.

Hey Bruce,

Did he do anything by Betty Crocker?

Don't get me started on why they're not in the Hall of Fame yet.

Longtime fan. Seen twice - once when my brothers’ band opened for them, so that was cool. The second time in a Small local Casino lounge on a 15 below Iowa night. Could reach out and touch them almost. I really liked the “Here and Now” newer release from ‘07. Taylor and Martin players as I recall.

I’d like to know how they were recorded. The acoustic sound on those albums is spectacular.

They are a great band & this budget priced collection of their albums is a great introduction.
The first 2 albums in particular are superb.

Was lucky enough to see them locally in 2009 & got to talk with Gerry & Dewey. They were really happy to talk about their guitars & it is clear they love their Taylors.

Strumming some of their chord progressions on my guitars is one of my simple but happy pleasures in life. Wonderful.

Pick on

Slim

So many great tunes. Holiday is probably the record I've played the most.
