FWIW, when using monel-wounds for their vintage sound and "period correctness" one should really go that extra step and put on round-cores instead of Martin's hex-cores. Curt Mangan, Newtone and Pyramid all make those.

(I had Pyramid make me a set of "silk-and-monels"; interesting but ultimately monel isn't my cup of tea.)

Tried the Mangans, great strings. But so are the Martin's and I can get them right down the street.
