I've had two oak guitars in, a Brentrup parlour and an OO sized 'Elsie' from Ken Franklin.
Both sounded amazing. I can't wait to see this one at the show.

Wonderful work as always! I would really be interested to hear a brief sound clip from the Big Leaf Maple/Sitka guitar going to Memphis? That will be one happy client I'm sure! Thanks Dave

Thanks Matthew. Initial impressions are really positive. We have to dial in the action, and then I'll report back.
Or, we could just let Trevor play it at Memphis, and report in... Hey Dave, thanks. We'll try to get that done this week. Are you still coming to Memphis? OMO, many thanks! And yes, this top DID come from Brent. I'm impressed you are familiar with that. I should have bought more while he had it. Thanks all, Steve |

The more I stare at that maple back, the more mesmerizing it becomes, simply unbelievable wood and contrasted with the BRW bindings and back strip, it really sets it off! Bet is sounds killer too.

We've put up this rosette earlier, but here is a finished view.
Need to polish the nut and put on the truss rod cover, but this is basically it: And the back, which we've had for quite some time. Koa, from the days when Doug Degenhart still lived in Hawaii: Thanks for looking, Steve |

That is outstanding Steve. I love the whole look. I love the rosette and the use of Paua and how the rosette mimics the end of the fret board. Love the way the Paua only wraps up part of the way on the sides of the rosette. The back strip is awesome. The koa is great. This one is really beautiful. Your booth at Memphis is going to be quite the show stopper!!!!
Congrats. Tom |
