Custom Andrew Enns Standard Sitka/Paduak ** SOLD**
Here we have an Andrew Enns custom acoustic guitar. Some classical guitar enthusiasts may know of Andrew from his time as head luthier with Cordoba - where he developed the highly sought after Limited Edition Master Series. It seemed natural that Andrew began developing his steel string building techniques and leveraged his classical knowledge with input from Matthew and Jean Larrivee and Ren Ferguson with Guild. Andrew custom built a limited number of steel string instruments prior to his newly appointed position of senior acoustic guitar builder for Yamaha. Here, Andrew focuses mainly on custom builds for individual artists. Andrew put his Enns Guitar custom orders on hold while he tackles this new role.
This particular guitar is prominently featured on Enns Guitar website (https://www.ennsguitars.com/gallery) and is stunning to say the least. Several professional photos here. Beautiful sunburst Sitka Spruce over Paduak back and sides. The perfect mix of overtones and string to string balance. Not to mention pretty crazy headroom for a smaller body without sounding boxy. What is Padauk? Visually striking, African Padauk shares many tonal properties of traditional rosewoods, having warm and focused lows while having clear highs and with plenty of overtones. Tony Karol wrote: "Thin to 80, bends OK with a blanket. Your shop will look like a paprika factory after sanding, and you will need cement to fill the pores, but the end product is amazing. Padauk makes an awesome guitar IMO. Best parlor I ever made was red cedar over padauk." Overall condition: 9.8/10, there is a tiny impression on the top binding of the lower bout close to bottom center. Specifications: Nut width: 1.75" Bridge String Spacing: 2.25" Fretboard: Ebony Fretbaord Radius: 16" Top: Sitka Spruce (w/ nice silking) Back & Sides: AAA Padauk Neck: 3-piece Mahogany / maple stringer Bridge: Ebony Rosette: Padauk/Ebony Binding: Ebony Tuners: Gotoh Headstock: Paduak front and back Upper Bout: 11.4" Waist: 9.5" Lower Bout: 15.4" Body depth: 4.25" at tail Asking $2,650 $2,550 $2,450 shipped CONUS. Jeff, what is the neck profile like? And is it gloss or satin?
