Just to clarify, there really aren't "Facebook Influencers". There are "Instagram Influencers", but not really Facebook as the main platform.

“Influencer” is just another word for “celebrity.” I have no desire to be either; social media shouldn’t be a form of entertainment. It should be used to keep in touch with a core group separated by distance and overcome isolation IMO.

But as noted, there aren't any Facebook influencers.

I once saw a Conan O'Brien routine where he said in the future all of these social media things will eventually merge into:
"Youtwitface" I thought it was brilliant! (sorry for the detour) Best, PJ

I think that being led around by an "influencer" on social media is a sign of a very weak mind.

I visit TGP and here. There seem to be 'influencers' of sorts on both sites.

I use FB for my music schedule, services and videos because it’s a quick reference for my friends, fans and followers to see where I’m performing and for new venues to hear what I sound like. It’s what is used most around these parts for now. It’s a necessity for my livelihood as a full time musician... doesn’t mean I like it though. I would prefer a stand alone website, but most folks I know don’t bother with them and FB is a quicker reference that most folks I know have and use... many folks I find these days have been conditioned to have an attention span of a nanosecond so for now FB works for my biz... again, doesn’t mean I like it.

That’s kind of my point. People get sucked into the social media hustle in order to gain some benefit, but really what they are unintentionally doing is getting pennies on the dollar for surrendering what little privacy they have. The difference with Facebook is that they don’t even bother to do that; they just kind of frack away as if they own it already.

We've decided that my daughter's cat, Lincoln, is an Instagram influencer. I don't think he cares, not even a little bit, but the little sucker is gettin' RICH!
I'm a reluctant Facebook user. I'm on it because I'm loosely in touch with a number of people I'd lose touch with otherwise. I go on it once or twice a week for 10 minutes or so, at most. I don't influence anyone. And since I only follow a handful of my 40-50 "friends", nobody's influencing me either, at least anyone who wouldn't be without FB. -Ray

I'm not sure what a Facebook "Influencer" is, but if it exists I think I'm one. Maybe. Depends on how you define the term. I run an architectural Facebook page for a non-profit organization called the Trost Society. The Society researches late 1800s and early 1900s El Paso, TX buildings - their history, architects and architectural styles, owners, etc. Right now I research and post an average of two buildings per day, and occasionally toss in old historic photographs. As of today I have 8,951 followers. I've run the Facebook page for a little over 2 years now.
The name "Trost Society" honors Henry C. Trost, an early American Southwest architect who was headquartered in El Paso from 1903 until his death in the early 1930s. So, with almost 9k followers, IDK - Am I an "influencer?" Lol probably not, but at least let me think I am. Visit the page - if you love architectural history, you may find it enjoyable --- https://www.facebook.com/TrostSociety
