Default Fender '68 Custom Pro Reverb

Any owners here?

I demo'd one today with a Tele.. Great sounding amp. Classic 60's Fender sound. Appreciate the lighter weight. Seems a bit pricey.

It didn't seem as loud as I expected for a 40W tube amp (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Tell me what you love or don't about it..

I don't own one, but when I hear one of these, I really notice it. These are really great sounding amps. I have noticed a lot of super good jazz players (Anthony Wilson, for example) play these Pro Reverb amps.

I could see why a serious jazz player would use one. Very clean.

Default Original Pro Reverb

A guitar player I worked with back in the early 70's had a Fender Pro. He was playing a Gibson ES-150 through it. Great little amp with plenty of juice for small club dates. Very reliable too. My personal preference however was the Super Reverb. I preferred the crispness of the 4 x 10 speaker setup.

Get a PTP amp if you want the real thing. Personally 40 watts is way more than I need. Heck my 12 watt Princeton Reverb is far too loud for most gigs these days.

I love mine.

One thing some don't know is that there is only a handful of components difference between the '68 Custom and the '65 Prince RI and it is easy to flip back and forth. I did a full review, HERE and used this nice YouTube clip from Nariman Rastegar in my review:

He used a Tube Screamer, a delay, a '68 Princeton Custom, and Strat to create the tones on this song.

Default NAD

Pulled the trigger today...
Took home a brand-new Fender '68 Custom Pro Reverb. A match made in heaven for my Tele. The clean is stunning and a Boss OD-3 in front is like a ride in the Bat Mobile.

I do own one.

I use my amps as a pedal platform.

Light, 12" Celestion, SOunds good but.... It's a bit on the brittle side. SS Rectifier. I tend to like a GZ34.

But if you can't move a JTM45. It'll get you in the game.

I had a 1975 Fender Pro Reverb (Silverface) that sounded great.
