So sorry your Olson was stolen. Looks like a beautiful guitar.

Keep on eye on eBay and Craigslist. Real thieves try to convert stolen goods into cash quickly. I knew a middle-school kid whose trumpet got stolen...daddy found it on Craigslist, threatened to call the cops and got it back. Good luck. (Beautiful guitar, by the way....)

Default stolen

A friend recently had a couple of guitars stolen. He contacted the police and they contacted or visited the various shops where it might be fenced. They found them both a couple of days later, but did nut find the thief. The bad part is that they are being held for evidence until the thief is caught and brought to trial. If he wants them back, he must agree to drop charges.

He refused to do that and ended up, after a couple of months, buying 2 new Eastmans. He figures the stolen ones are gone as far as he is concerned. His homeowner's won't pay since they have been recovered.

For a guitar that expensive, I’m surprised that you didn’t have any guitar insurance like heritage or something similar.

How is this helpful 4.5 years after the initial post? Also none of his posts say that it wasn’t insured, even if it was I’m sure he still just wants to recover what would be a highly treasured guitar.

Have you contacted Jim Olson? Buyers of used Olsons invariably contact him for help advice.

Something smells fishy about this. I don't want to point fingers, but how did anyone know that guitar was there and did you have other guitars that they did not take? Usually things like this that happens, it's family or friend matter, they know exactly how to steal it if they were to steal it clean. Ask yourself, how was the break-in to steal it? Was the place left a bit trashed or did the guitar just disappear from it's spot? Don't want to say anything bad about friends or family but sometimes it happens behind your back. Hope this helps.

Default This was 4 1/2 years ago... Read the OP

What’s noteworthy is the guy joined in November 2016,
posted the Original Post November 14th 2016,
and then disappeared till two days ago.
Yes, about 4 1/2 years passed, and he posted nothing in between.

He has posted a total of 8 times, all of them about this “Stolen Olson”,
and nothing else.
No comments, no questions, no updates, no responses, nothing about anything.

(edited to remove an edgy comment I’d made)

Hi Jnugent1

There is a FaceBook Olson group on FaceBook. Have you listed it with them?

Good suggestion, Larry. Jnugent1 hasn't done anything worthy of criticism here. If any of us has information, let's help him. Best of luck, Jnugent1... I hope you find it and get it back safely.

There's a good chance this guitar ends up in a pawnshop in Houston .

It's going to be hard selling it in LA.

It most likely be safer for the thief to unload it in Texas.

I really hope you're able to get your guitar back.

Good Luck.
