Default Does anyone know?

...if these Godin Tric cases are nitro finish safe for sure? I even contact Godin and they said they had no idea.

I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be?

Unless they have the guitar resting directly on foam, without any fabric lining, I don’t see where there’d be any problem. So long as there’s some sort of upholstery between the guitar and the padding, I think you’ll be fine.

Agreed. I have a friend who uses one and her guitar looks like a nitro finish - though I've never asked. I have never heard complaints on these and have been sort of "following' them for years. Very protective and light for the money. Impressive when you think about it.

I didn't think any of that fuzzy stuff was a problem with nitro finishes. I guess the safe thing would be to use some cotton towels to cushion the guitar...

Part of the reason I think there’s nothing to worry about when you put a nitrocellulose lacquer finished guitar into a TRIC case is that those cases have been out on the market for some time now - ten or fifteen years, at least - and if there was an incompatibility problem it would have surfaced long ago. There would have been lots of deeply distressed guitar owners posting about it.

But I’ve never seen any posts like that.

I’m certain we would have heard about it if there were any problems along those lines.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was odd that Godin themselves didn't know. The chemical smell in the case when I first got it was immense, so it had me wondering.

I thought like you guys on this, but it would be nice to know for sure.

They definitely are great cases for the money. The climate control aspect of them is insanely good. Been monitoring mine with SensorsPush and they do an incredible job of insulating the instrument from the environment.

When I got my multiac steel and opened it up for the first time. The chemical aroma was absolutely the most blissful thing on the planet. Every once in a while i still get it and smile. One of my favorite smells.
