The sensor uses a CR2020 watch battery. They are good for 2+ years.

The science world is full of literature, and I would recommend using the standards provided by NIST:

and read this "classic" before attempting any calibration:

Hygrometers for "household use" are pre-calibrated and not suitable for studies that require scientific rigour anyway.
