I wonder if the actual strap lock part (metal) is coated on the guitar side to prevent scratching? The standard ones aren't as there's no need - they don't move around, they are attached with the screw.

I have these on all 3 of my Taylor's, and I love them. I didn't really have issues with the strap coming off before, but it's nice that I don't have to worry about it at all. It's also super quick to put my strap on.

There's a small felt tab on the back of the metal that would keep it from touching the guitar. When you're playing, there's a small space between due to the curvature of the guitar body.

I had fixed-length straps made for my guitars, a single strip of leather with 10mm round holes instead of the normal small hole with a slot. 60" hole to hole because I'm tall. They work great with my straplocks.
