Although I have a decent audio interface, I was thinking about getting a MacBook Pro and an Apogee Duet to "hide" and record in a quiet place but, the H4N sounds might be the ticket. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Biggs

You should know that only the acoustic guitar tracks were done on the H4n. The rest was done through the new Avid M-Box (which gets crushed around here as being a piece of junk) and Logic Pro. There is no eq anywhere on the project on any instrument. There is however reverb on the guitar tracks.

Did you use the reverb in the Zoom?

No..I don't usually "print reverb" which is what would happen if I used the reverb on the zoom.

I think I am pretty tech savy with computers, but I have never used a 4 track recorder or anything.

I am trying to start playing guitar more again and would like to compose original songs. Always used to hate when I would have an idea, but unless I wrote out tab I would forget by the next night and even with tab if the beats were off it wouldn't sound the same.

Anyway I would love to have some easy device to record on and Zoom sounds great. Zoom one is 100 and 2 ? 150 4n 300.

What are the biggest bene's of getting the 4n?

Hi I tried to record my guitar playing and sounds distorted?

I have set recording volume to 0.1 and still render same results.

How to make the recorded guitar sound clean? Thanks!

HI ffs...
Are you using mics or direct input?

OK, this isn't guitar music, but let me set the stage for you. Inside a church which has little reverb, me and the H4n about 20 feet from a string quartet, 25 or so singers surrounding me. This little box is the bomb... Joseph that track is awesome..

Hey Larry, I'm using its built-in mics.

Anyway, it works now, after recording in wav instead of mp3 format!

Any other tips to record best sound quality of fingerstyle guitar playing, as I'm new to H4n?
